VEGANISM is a way of living which seeks to exclude as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.

“A person who follows a vegan diet produces 50% less CO2, and uses 1/llth oil, and 1/13th water and 1/18th land compared to a meat eater.” – Cowspiracy

Eating a plant based diet and living a vegan lifestyle, does a lot for this planet.

However, the only reason it matters for me, is that it saves animals.

This lifestyle is also the first half of this blog, H I G H C A R B.

I am a reformed chronic dieter – I have suffered through bro-diets of chicken, rice and broccoli for 4 meals a day to a macro counter where every ounce of food, beverage and vitamin was accounted for. I have survived bulimia and periods of absolute bingeing and purging. To now, me eating consciously, I guess in the fitness world this is called “intuitive eating”, but I choose the term consciously – because I am conscious that what I am putting in my body isn’t tainted with torture and death.

Most vegan social media accounts will share with you the amount of protein that plants, legumes etc has- what most neglect to inform is that the predominant macronutrient is that of a carbohydrate.

BUT Carbs are scary! Carbs are bad!

Almost everyone will tell you to limit your carb intake to lose weight.

I am not one of those everyone.

HIGH CARB because carbs are delicious.
